Legacy giving, sometimes called planned giving, is a way to make a lasting contribution to the causes and communities you care about most. It's about looking ahead and knowing that your generosity will continue to make a difference long after you're gone.
For Moose members, a planned gift is a deeply personal way to support the fraternal values you've lived by: caring for children at Mooseheart, providing for seniors at Moosehaven, and strengthening your local lodge right here in River Falls.
You don't have to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Many planned gifts cost nothing during your lifetime and can be arranged with a simple update to your existing estate plan.
There are several ways to include the Moose in your long-term plans. Here are some of the most common options.
Include a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a residual gift to Mooseheart, Moosehaven, Moose Charities, or Lodge 594 in your will or living trust.
Name a Moose organization as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, retirement account (IRA, 401k), or bank account. This is one of the simplest ways to give.
Donate appreciated assets such as real estate, stocks, or other property. These gifts can provide meaningful support while potentially offering tax advantages.
Make a gift and receive fixed income payments for life in return. A charitable gift annuity lets you support the Moose while also providing for yourself or a loved one.
A planned gift to the Moose family supports causes that have been at the heart of our fraternity for over a century:
